The recent release of the
Academies Bill provides a range of exciting opportunities
for schools wishing to gain greater autonomy and financial
freedom, including:
- Freedom from local authority
control
- Ability to set your own
pay and conditions for staff
- Freedom from following
the National Curriculum
- Ability to change the
lengths of terms and school days
- Greater control over
your school budget
- Freedom to spend the
money the LA currently spends on your behalf
